Welcome
to my photo gallery. This is a picture sequence I took, when my
18 month old, double het., Burmese python became egg
bound.
She had laid 14 fertile eggs and then, because of her small size,
she became too weak to finish the job.
I should have waited the extra year before breeding. She
did recover nicely and went on to produce the following year without
a problem.
Dr.
Ken McQuiston performed the surgery. Five
nice eggs but
none of them
survived. It is
now understood
that the female
gives the eggs a
layer of anti-bacterial protection when laid.
