Welcome to my photo gallery. This is a picture sequence I took, when my 18 month old, double het., Burmese python became egg
bound
. She had laid 14 fertile eggs and then, because of her small size, she became too weak to finish the job.

I should have waited the extra year before breeding. She did recover nicely and went on to produce the following year without a problem.

Dr. Ken McQuiston performed the surgery. Five
nice eggs but
none of them
survived. It is
now understood
that the female
gives the eggs a
layer of anti-bacterial protection when laid.
